PERSONALITY:
Abi is the kind of girl that most people in the school don’t even know is there. She prefers to sit in the library and read her book rather than gossip with others. She isn’t a total nerd, in fact often the book is something like ‘twilight’ or even a magazine. The thing with Abi is that she just isn’t very good at socialising. She never knows what to say to people to make small talk. She tends to keep to herself and this makes people assume she is a bit of a geek. Abi is actually a pretty nice girl she is just way too shy for people to know that about her.
Abi is probably one of the sweetest girls you could ever encounter but not many people bother to give her the time of day. She has a childish look about her and so that keeps the boys away from her, along with her lack of social skills. Abi doesn’t like to upset anyone and sometimes this means she is used or gets persuaded into doing things that she doesn’t really want to do. Abi is often misused because she doesn’t like standing up for herself, if someone is annoying her she tends to say nothing and just let it build up until she can’t cope anymore. She lets little things get to her but she doesn’t tell anyone.

HISTORY:
It was july 9th 1993 when both Lizzie and Abigail Santiago were brought into the world. The parents were expecting twins but they did not know the sex of the babies or if they were to be identical or not. The two girls looked exactly the same but they would grow up to be very different. Their dad named Lizzie and their mother named Abi. It seemed that they got it right because as they grew up Lizzie became a daddy’s girl whereas Abi stuck by her mom. The two babies were some of the cutest little babies you could find and as the only two children of their parents they were looked after very well. Abi and Lizzie were only one when their brother was born which put him just one school year behind them. Abi and her brother became very close, spending a lot of time together while Lizzie was with her friends. Abi struggled to make friends because of her nerves and quietness so she stuck with her brother.
When the twins were seven and their brother was six their parents split up. They moved into two separate houses but they still lived very close so the children could easily move between them. The twins had to make a decision, who would they stay with, Lizzie, having always been a daddy’s girl moved in with her father and Abi decided to live with her mom and her brother. Yes, it is quite strange that two twins wouldn’t live in the same house but that was the way these two twins were. Of course they always saw each other at school and they were always at the other parents house. It was quite convenient really because due to Abi and Lizzie being the same size they could swap houses and not even have to pack. Abi adored her dad but she had always been a mommy’s girl so it made sense to her, plus she couldn’t leave her brother, she loved him way too much.
When Abi was twelve her mother re-married. No, this isn’t a story of an evil step-dad in fact it is quite the opposite. Abi loves he step-dad, to her he isn’t really a step-dad, more just like a second dad. He is always there for her when she needs him and her real dad can’t be there. Abi spends a lot of time with her step-dad because of her mom’s busy job but she doesn’t mind, he understands her. A year later, when Abi and Lizzie were thirteen, their father re-married. Abi liked her step-mom too, it seems weird for the children to love their step-parents this much but it was normal for the Santiago’s. Abi practically has two families but to her it’s normal. At parent-teacher conferences sometimes all four come and most of the other students see it as strange but to Abi it is life and she loves it. Abi still lives with her mom, brother and step-dad and Lizzie lives with her dad, step-mom and step-brother but they see each other every day at school.
Abi started dancing at the age of five when her mother took her and Lizzie to their first ballet lesson. Lizzie didn’t really enjoy it but Abi found it magical. She watched some of the older dancers and knew that one day she wanted to be that good, well, just look at her now. She quickly took up every type of dance that was offered to her and she became pretty good. She was moved up into classes of people a lot older than her and her mom built her a dance studio in their basement when she was twelve so she was able to practice all the time. She joined a dance troupe out of school and made lots of friends but she never made her dancing known in school. There were plenty of times when Abi could have joined a dance group but she didn’t want to. Being unknown was part of who she was and being in the school dance team would not keep her unknown. Also, Abi felt like she would embarrass herself, she never realised how talented she was and felt like if she danced in front of the school dancers they would just laugh in her face, she didn’t think she had what it took.
Abi and Lizzie were settled in at school but they were itching for a change, that was when their parents found out about the school. They decided it would be good to send the girls there as they really wanted a pair of identical twins. Abi and Lizzie adored the idea of going to a boarding school, of course it pained them to leave their families behind but they both knew it would be a good start for when they had to leave for college, at least this time they had each other. When they got to the school though they were not put together. Abi was put with a girl called Blake, a girl that happened to be the complete opposite of Abi, something both girls thought was incredibly annoying but the teachers thought was the best for both of them, well, we’ll see what happens, it really is a mad world.
